ᐅ Does a balcony sunshade structure require a building permit / planning permission?

Hello,
I live in a condominium unit in a building with six apartments. It is a new build.
I have a large balcony facing south.
Since there is no overhead covering, I want to get two aluminum posts (same material and color as the balcony railing) from the balcony manufacturer and have them installed at the corners of the balcony railing. Then I plan to attach a sunshade sail between the two posts and fix it above the balcony door.
The posts would be easy to remove. The sunshade sail would only be hung up when the weather is suitable (of course, not overnight).
I also have a neighbor who has a south-facing balcony as well (currently with no covering or other installations).

Question:
Do I need to
a) submit this plan to the homeowners’ association for approval?
b) obtain a permit from the local authorities (building permit / planning permission)?
I am the owner of this apartment.

Thank you very much,
erika

Thanks for the hint @souly75 and @ypg, I wasn’t aware of that. Learned something new again. In a multi-family building with condominiums here, awnings were installed without any consultation. But probably no one was upset about it. I assumed it was allowed that way.

Yes, those are the disadvantages of condominiums... but I am still very happy with my decision.

This is still under discussion! However, a roof will probably not be affordable. The sunshade would be an alternative during the summer to block the sun!
