Hello forum,
we have purchased a semi-detached house.
We need to renew the roof and the cladding of the dormer.
The roof will be reinforced with 10cm (4 inches) beams, and a black roofing cover will be installed (the roof structure will be raised by about 20cm (8 inches)). Additionally, the eaves will be extended to 15–20cm (6–8 inches).
The dormer will be clad with slate.
No changes will be made to the structural engineering.
Now, my question is whether a building permit / planning permission is required for this, or if this work is exempt from approval?
There is no development plan for this area.

I look forward to your answers.

Best regards from Neumünster in the far north.

Without knowing the exact legal situation, I would go ahead and do it without asking anyone, because no one will really care anyway.

You will have to notify the building site anyway. At the same time, you will find out about it.

Who indicates where such construction sites are? This is not building, but maintenance.

No construction sign with a red dot for a roof renovation? Then I just learned something and hereby retract my comment. So, simply check with the building authority / planning office.

Ok, thanks already for the responses.
I hope for a quick reply 😀
Has anyone had any experience with this?
My building authority / planning office is very difficult to reach.
