Hello,

our radiators throughout the house are now about 25 years old and unfortunately are all starting to rust, with some already having significant rust.

Does anyone have any tips on how I can get them looking nice and white again? What kind of paint should I use? And is it best to sand them first?

Thank you!

I believe there is special paint for radiators available at hardware stores, which is heat-resistant. It also comes in spray cans as far as I know. And the sanding should be done beforehand. At least the rust needs to be removed, and the rest I would just roughen slightly.

Hi!

The old paint does not need to be completely removed, just lightly sanded. You need a radiator paint that can withstand heat. Usually, priming can be done with the same paint. Two coats are sufficient.

Best regards, listchecker 😉

Hi builder,

First, you need to sand your radiators, then thoroughly remove the dust. After that, apply a primer and let it dry. Finally, paint the radiator with a special heat-resistant radiator paint. Usually, radiators are spray-painted, but if you want to do it yourself, you need to paint it.
