Hello, we still need to carry out a core drilling through a 36cm (14 inches) wall made of KLB blocks. The diameter is 150mm (6 inches). However, the interior walls have already been painted. My question is: does the drilling create a lot of dust?

Best regards, Steffi.

A rotary hammer and good drill bits were then my combination of choice.

I can’t really give a clear answer about the type of reinforced concrete we have. It’s regular reinforced concrete, but what exactly does that mean?

As tools, I have a Makita hammer drill and good drill bits from Hilti, with 4 cutting edges at the tip.

Recently, I bought a special granite drill bit. It overheated before I even made the first hole in the stone. After that, I tried the Hilti bits, and I finished all 6 holes in 2 minutes. It went like butter.

So... a perfect hole is in the wall... To my surprise, it was a quick, dust-free, and relatively inexpensive job. Best regards, Steffi33.

What is the hole for?

The opening is for our range hood. Here are some pictures:

Oh, those are nice windows. The "ornament" (which is supposed to look turned) is well made. What kind of profile and manufacturer is that?
