Hello, we still need to carry out a core drilling through a 36cm (14 inches) wall made of KLB blocks. The diameter is 150mm (6 inches). However, the interior walls have already been painted. My question is: does the drilling create a lot of dust?

Best regards, Steffi.

Normally, this is done with water! It creates a nice mixture.

Oh God... no, that’s not possible... that spot has already been painted...

You can’t do without water... the drill needs to be cooled... and it also helps to control the dust.

KLB is something like Ytong, right? It’s drilled without water and doesn’t create much dust because the dust is immediately extracted through the drill bit. With our material (Poroton), it was a clean process.

We performed a core drill through the concrete basement wall from the outside to the inside; the drill was water-cooled.
There was occasional splashing outside, but also when breaking through inside.
The interior basement walls had already been painted white, so I repainted the affected area due to the dirt.
