Hello. Does anyone know if a LAS chimney must be built starting exactly from the floor level? Or could it also be constructed at a height of, for example, 130cm (51 inches)?

Background to the question:
We want to install a fireplace, for example a Camina S17. Our chimney is positioned about 35cm (14 inches) above the wall. If we place the fireplace in front of it, it extends far into the room.
If the chimney could be built so that the fireplace can be pushed against the wall with a connection pipe going upward, we would save those 35cm (14 inches).
I hope this makes sense. Attached is a floor plan for reference.

However, I am not sure how the chimney would be constructed in this case. Normally, it is built starting from the floor.....

I can't imagine that... You probably need a separate pad foundation for the chimney.
What does the chimney manufacturer say?

That is why there are now several chimney builders who integrate the fireplace directly into the chimney. Try searching for Plewa Unitherm.

Hi,

we have a wall-mounted gas boiler, Buderus GB-172.

The flue pipe runs upward, makes a 90-degree turn for about 80cm (31 inches), and then another 90-degree turn upward. This means the flue pipe is not resting on the floor. A fireproof enclosure in the form of a shaft is located only on the upper floor and is hidden behind the cladding or partition wall for the plumbing fixtures.

Does this answer your question?

Best regards,
Thorsten

@ Wastl: Good idea… however, I don’t like the look, and I have to use a chimney from Symo DS-FB.
@ T21150: Good idea… do these plastic pipes also supply fresh air to the flue?
