Hello everyone,
(Hope I don’t get banned right away for posting a bunch of crap…)
Some animal is leaving a pile of droppings on our lawn almost every night, strangely always in almost the same spot (plus or minus 2 m (6.5 ft)). At first, I suspected the neighbor’s cat, but the pile seems too large for a cat, right? Also, don’t cats usually go into garden beds rather than right in the middle of the lawn?

Question: Can anyone tell me if this could still be cat droppings? If so, I guess a conversation with the neighbors is due.
I’m getting tired of cleaning it up every morning, and even more worried that my kids might step in it while playing or that my son might try to taste it. My nephew once caught worms that way, which was quite unpleasant. That really shouldn’t happen.
And if it’s something else: what could it be and, above all, how do I get rid of it?
Barbed wire, spring-loaded traps, anti-aircraft guns, nuclear bomb?
Best regards,
Andreas

I need to use this thread to vent a bit.
I have a rose hedge with various varieties, about 20 meters (65 feet) long, serving as a boundary to the street. A large dog regularly poops right in the middle of it, often with diarrhea. Of course, it always happens when we’re not around. I told myself, well, you don’t have a fence, it’s not ideal, but I’m a dog lover too. But now I’m really upset—the dog trampled on one of the roses so hard that it was destroyed. It was torn out of the ground completely, roots and all. I suspect the leash got tangled and then pulled hard. The owner then shoved the stump back into the soil to hide the damage. Naturally, it dried out completely, so I had to remove it.
I’m now thinking about putting up a temporary fence to protect my roses. What would be best for the front? Right now, we really don’t have money for anything substantial, and the length is about 30 meters (98 feet). I want something that doesn’t immediately look awful but clearly marks the boundary. Later, the temporary fence will be removed and replaced with a proper one. Do you have any suggestions for me?

Have you tried using signs?
Someone here simply put up a prohibition sign showing a dog defecating. It worked.
I would give that a try.
My aunt had a problem with a two-legged animal; she put up a sign saying "Warning: Surveillance Camera" on the tree used as a urinal.
The fence will cost a four-digit amount for the length.

A picket fence? Not too expensive, and depending on the rose varieties, it could work well.I need to take a closer look at that. Thanks for the suggestion.Similar topics
