I have purchased an apartment in Biel that includes a built-in (concealed) box with a shut-off valve and probably a built-in water meter.
So far, no plumber has been able to tell me which manufacturer might produce a meter that fits. The installation date is likely from the 1990s.
It is not a currently common manufacturer.
The shut-off valve is located at the lower part, and I removed the cartridge through the upper opening.
As far as I can see, the thread diameter is 45mm (1.77 inches) and it is a fine thread.

Sandraholster-14 Mar 2016 09:01This is also a mystery to me, that no one knows such a water meter. It must be a historic piece. I would have it removed and taken to a museum. It surely has value if something like this no longer exists. Then have a new, modern water meter installed. That way, you will be on the safe side.
