Hello, my name is Max and I recently bought a newly built house. There is a pipe sticking out of the ground in my garden, which according to the construction manager, is a rainwater vent.
This pipe really bothers me because it is right in the middle of the garden, and my young daughter could easily get hurt on it.
My question is, is this normal? Is there a way to make it lower? I can’t find any flat DN100 (4-inch) caps for it. Or can I close the pipe underground with a DN100 (4-inch) sealing cap?
Thanks in advance

We had an inspection shaft for an infiltration system in the middle of our terraced house garden and initially not much budget for a structural solution. The shaft is located under the flowerpot (center-right in the picture), and the flower bed was shaped accordingly. This "temporary solution" lasted until the house was sold. It looked quite nice, didn’t it?
