Hello,
since I am currently considering building my own house and only looking at alternative heating systems, I have a few questions about air-to-water heat pumps.

1. Has anyone installed them and can share their experience?
2. Are there any independent tests of various manufacturers available?
3. Can anyone provide approximate prices including underfloor heating for 100m² (1,076 sq ft) that heating contractors typically charge? So far, I have only received price estimates from house builders, which mention around 15,000 euros when excluding gas heating, but since I plan to manage the construction myself, I am naturally interested in the total cost.
4. Can anyone provide consumption figures for such a heat pump in a modern house with standard insulation? I have received consumption data from Alko that varies significantly.
5. I was told that heat pumps only operate effectively down to a certain temperature and that below this, their performance drops sharply, requiring purely electric heating. Is this correct? What temperature limits usually apply?
6. Is three-phase power necessary to operate the system? I have read about 400V in some cases, which is important as I am currently arranging energy supply.

Hi,
my parents installed a heating system like this and they are very satisfied with it. My mother says that the costs have roughly been cut in half.

Hello,

I can tell you something about point 5, as there was a report on TV about it yesterday. It also works when it is very cold outside.

I hope this helps you.

Best regards, Dick

Well, I can’t help you much with that, as there is simply such a wide range of these systems available.

But basically, it’s a great solution because it really benefits the environment.
Anyway, it’s definitely better than having an old oil heating system.

Best regards, Mary

Hi,

it seems many people are interested in this. Doesn’t anyone want to write a post explaining everything in more detail?
I would like to read that, as I also have a few questions.

Best regards,
Hemd

Hello Hemd,

you’re not the only one, maybe someone feels like doing a bit of research over the weekend. I would really look forward to reading something about it on Monday, preferably with a picture!!!
