Corini198527 Sep 2022 14:34Hello everyone,
I have a Stiebel Eltron WPL 17 ICS classic. This is a new build from 2019.
In recent years, we had little to no problems with it.
Since last week, we started heating again. Unfortunately, for reasons unknown to me so far, the heating output is very strong. Where heating is on, the floor temperature is around 30–31°C (86–88°F). This has never happened before, even when it was very cold outside.
We haven’t really changed anything. The air source heat pump is running in comfort mode. The temperature set for comfort mode on the heat pump is 21°C (70°F).
What I noticed:
Setpoint temperature HK1: 23.9°C (75°F)
Actual temperature: 30.4°C (87°F)
Supply temperature heat pump: 30.5°C (87°F)
Controller dynamics: 50
Standby pump power: 35
Do you have any idea why the floor is heating so excessively and feels so warm? I would also say that the programs “domestic hot water” and “compressor” run unusually long, almost continuously.
Thanks in advance

Why post a call for help in the forum?
Usually, the first step is to immediately contact your trusted plumber (ideally the one who installed or commissioned the system).
Hopefully, they have complete documentation of the system and may already have an explanation for this issue in mind.
That would be my approach, at least.
Such occurrences can sometimes be early warning signs of an imminent defect, or at least higher operating costs (both undesirable).

This sounds to me like a faulty switching valve between the domestic hot water and the heating circuit.
Unfortunately, this happens quite frequently with the Stiebel Eltron LWZ.
The only solution is to replace it, so it’s time to call in a service technician.

If a three-way switching valve is installed, the error usually occurs at the beginning of the heating season. Sometimes it is enough to manually operate the switch a few times, if possible. For this, the actuator must be removed. If the warranty is still valid, the heating installer should, of course, perform this.

Good point. I mean, for me, this even works on a very small screen—so manual switching. You could try that if you have the professional technician password.
