ᐅ Access to the carport is obstructed by a lamp post.

Hello everyone,

Here is the situation: The house was newly built four years ago. However, the city has not yet constructed a sidewalk and is currently catching up on this. Now, it is suddenly planned to install a streetlight in front of my carport (albeit at the edge).

A brief explanation of the diagram: Green = street. Teal = an example of a mid-sized car. Yellow = the newly planned sidewalk. Orange = the newly planned streetlight. Blue = driveway to the carport (I extended it for clarity, all to scale and proportion).

Is there a regional regulation (NRW) that governs this situation given the angle xyz and a single-lane roadway? In my opinion, the streetlight is a design error that complicates or obstructs my driveway access to the carport.

Best regards

Arc flash calculation is available for Ellipse 130 DWS LS34 2xCORLIGHT each 0.3A.

Then you will have a hard time. The distance to the carport edge is actually being maintained.

I was almost going to say: look at it positively – they even bricked up the neighbor’s garden gate...

The area marked in red is my property.
In the meantime, I have been looking into turning radius and have placed a template found online (see additional photo).

Yes, it is tight. But within the usual and, in my opinion, acceptable limits. Of course, it could have been handled more elegantly with more clearance, but as it looks, you should still get through there quite well.

No, it was discussed verbally on site. No written rejection notice. Yesterday, they said (verbally) that we will shift them by 30cm (12 inches)!

Well, based on your drawing, one might doubt your driving skills, but the photos clarify a lot, especially since the street is quite narrow.

Apparently, your angled driveway made an impression because of the corner.
So I’m curious to see if they really move it.
