Hello, I bought a house and in the kitchen, the 3 halogen spotlights above the countertop keep turning off. I have checked everything, and it seems fine. Most likely, the transformer is just shutting off. I would replace it with a new one, but unfortunately, the wiring is behind the wall cabinets... Planning in 1998 wasn’t very forward-thinking. The transformer piques my curiosity, and I can’t find any information about it online. I would like to replace the halogen lamps with LEDs. However, I can’t find any wattage rating on the transformer to know what range I should be within. I took a photo of it. Can anyone make sense of the specifications?

Elektra transformer with input 230 V and output 11.5 V/2.6 A (type GT 0.03)

Here’s how I see it: Back in 2002, during my journeyman exam as an auto locksmith, I had to set up a lighting system and wire the reverse lights, but the dipped beam headlights started flashing instead. It didn’t really get any better over time since I never actually worked in that trade...
So, electricity is not really my thing. But I’m also not as clueless as the way I asked those questions might suggest.
Plan about 80%, and just try the rest. If you end up at 95%, that’s all good.

I’ll just connect a new transformer and call it done.

Thanks a lot to everyone!

Sure, go ahead. If a few minor mistakes happen and, in your estimation, 95% of the family survive, that’s still a decent rate.
It’s just electricity after all.

I can still manage to connect two colors together.
