Hello everyone, I am looking for a reliable method to clean Malm furniture – especially the white painted versions – without leaving stubborn residues or streaks on the surface. So far, I have tried various cleaning products, but I have either encountered sticky film residues or streaking. Does anyone know of a cleaning method or specific products that work particularly well to gently yet thoroughly clean Malm furniture? It is especially important to me that no unpleasant residues remain, as I use the furniture frequently and want it to look clean again quickly. Thanks in advance!
I would recommend using vinegar essence with caution, especially on painted furniture. Vinegar is acidic and can gradually damage or dull the finish. It is advisable to use a neutral pH cleaner, such as a mild soap solution. Additionally, after cleaning, be sure to wipe down with clear water to remove any residue from cleaning agents, which can otherwise leave a film. Intermediate steps like polishing with a microfiber or cotton cloth help prevent streaks.

I definitely want to preserve the durability of the painted surface and avoid risking the furniture becoming dull or porous. What do you mean by "mild soapy solution"? Can you recommend specific products or explain what composition I should look for when buying one?

What do you mean by "mild soapy solution"? A mild soapy solution is usually a mixture of lukewarm water with a drop of pH-neutral liquid soap, such as an unscented hand soap or a special furniture cleaner without additives. Most conventional dishwashing liquids are too harsh.
Alternatively, using special furniture care wipes can be practical, as they are pre-moistened with a gentle cleaning agent to avoid residues.

Here is a summary of what I understand so far:
1. Use lukewarm water with a drop of mild, pH-neutral liquid soap
2. Never clean with too much water, just damp enough
3. Wipe again with a clean, damp cloth
4. Immediately dry with a microfiber cloth
Is that correct?
Is there a specific technique for moving the cloth to avoid streaks or residues, or does it not matter?
Thanks everyone!
