Hello everyone,
My grandmother owns a plot of land on which I would like to build a residential house.
I have discussed this with my aunt, and she is okay with it. I just need to compensate her with an appropriate amount, roughly 50,000 euros.
What is the most cost-effective way to handle this?
My grandmother can transfer the land to me tax-free as an inheritance. However, I can only gift up to 20,000 euros tax-free to my aunt.
Good luck

So you buy the land from your grandma tax-free for 50k and she then gifts it to your aunt?If I understood you correctly, your explanation is a bit hard to follow 🙂Freed23 schrieb:
I just need and want to pay her the corresponding amount.
On the order of 50k€ (about 55,000 USD) [...] However, I can only gift my aunt 20k€ (about 22,000 USD) tax-free.So your aunt wants to be compensated for her inheritance share worth 50k€ (about 55,000 USD), and your concern is only the 30k€ (about 33,000 USD) difference that you would have to gift to your aunt and pay tax on? – It seems you are on the completely wrong track regarding what kind of financial transactions these would be.
