So, this is our first topic here. We want to build a house but don’t know much. 😉

We appreciate any advice. We’re not sure what’s best—whether to buy an older house and renovate it or to go for a new build.

What kind of support is available and what options are there... There’s a lot to consider. We only know that the total cost should not exceed 250,000 €.

As you already said: "There is a lot to consider."
Read up on the forum and also check with the relevant authorities responsible for your area.

What I can tell you: building for €250,000 including the land is most likely not going to be possible.

Note: Find a plot of land, design the house, arrange the financing, and then you’re ready to start.
With €250,000 (approximately $270,000), it gets interesting.

We are not planning to build immediately either.
If anything, it would be a new build combined with land, such as those prefabricated houses or a property that is in need of significant renovation.
The question is, what kind of support is available regarding solar energy or geothermal heating...?

Then your question should be posted in the appropriate section with a relevant heading here in this forum.

In my opinion, the decision to build or buy a house should already be fairly settled before addressing the question of available support. In the initial planning stages, any support or subsidies should be considered secondary, since such assistance does not significantly increase the relatively modest budget of 250,000 (approximately 275,000 USD).
