Hello,

I am currently struggling to find a solid, good-quality sectional sofa for our new build.

We want a U-shaped sectional for the corner of our living room.
Width approximately 345-355 cm (136-140 inches).

The sectional should be good quality and upholstered in fabric (we do not like leather).

In the past, we and acquaintances have had bad experiences with the store brands from various furniture retailers.

At first, they were comfortable, but after a short time, they became very uncomfortable and you could feel the springs.

Which brands would you recommend that offer solid quality?

One that also holds up well for several years with normal use.

Budget max 2000-3000 €

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find anything suitable through the search.

I’m trying to protect myself from another disappointment. Our current sectional sofa was great in the store, but after six months it was already very worn out (durability = 0).

We also don’t find the models at Couchliebe very appealing (visually).

We want a classic U-shaped sectional sofa without many extra features.

A width of about 330–350 cm (130–138 inches) is possible.

The sectional sofa should, of course, be comfortable and offer plenty of space.

Sectional sofas from Poland could be interesting — is the quality good there as well?

Ours was top quality. If you have heavier body weight :-) you can also ask for reinforcement. We will definitely request that for our current sofa. It was important to us that the sofa is easy to maintain. The fabric looks a bit like velvet but is very, very durable and can easily be wiped clean.

There are actually several threads on this topic right here in the subforum you chose, aren’t there?

So far, we bought one sectional sofa (private label from Hardeck) and were disappointed after a short time.

Well, then just don’t buy a private label product, and instead try out the brand-name furniture in person from the start.

Mustering

For example... there are quite a few options. Maybe consider investing a bit more money for the space you need for a sectional sofa if you want good quality 🙂

Ok, I will take a look at the Polish shops.

Could you maybe recommend some directly?

Which brands would you recommend?

What would you say are good places to look for sectional sofas here?

I only found one thread about furniture where sectional sofas were not included.

None. I'm not really into large sectional sofas from furniture stores. I approach buying furniture differently than here in the forum.

Wherever that is! Just go to a furniture store and see what they offer. Then you can simply ignore the store brands and that’s that.

It's quite simple: visit one to three nearby furniture stores that have sofa sets on display which you like, and then, over a period of about three months, go back roughly every four weeks to do extended seating tests. This way, you can notice whether the quality "changes" or stays the same, and if the seating position still feels comfortable.

For example, I would avoid anything with a seat height of 38cm (15 inches), just as I would avoid a sofa where, when leaning back, my feet no longer touch the floor because the seat is too deep. That always gives a kind of toddler feeling.

Make sure to choose fabrics with high abrasion resistance, so they don't wear out quickly.
