ᐅ Changing the heating system after submitting the building permit application or during the construction phase

Hello everyone,
Our construction management recently asked us whether we might want to adjust our heating system choice due to the current situation (political events, gas supply, war, etc.).
We are currently building a KfW55 house (town villa, 148 sqm (1,593 sq ft)) and, when signing the contract last year, we had chosen a gas heating system combined with solar thermal. Now we are considering canceling the gas heating including the solar thermal system and switching to an air-source heat pump instead.
We are a bit uncertain about how long the adjustments from the builder’s side (architect, etc.) might actually take. This could potentially lead to a "construction halt" or even a delayed move-in. As for the current construction progress, the foundation slab and the ground floor are completed, and the next step will be the intermediate ceiling.
As far as I know, a “supplementary submission” has to be filed with the building authority. However, some additional questions arise:
1. Is it possible to change the heating system during the construction phase and after receiving the building permit / planning permission?
2. What documents are required for a supplementary submission to the building authority? Exterior elevations, datasheets of the air-source heat pump, and what else?
3. Could there potentially be issues with the already approved KfW55 application, and would a new energy calculation need to be done for the subsidy?
4. Are there other topics or points we should be aware of?
Thank you very much in advance!
Best regards, Martin

1. Is it still possible to change the heating system during the construction phase and after obtaining the building permit/planning permission?
...Of course, no building permit/planning permission is set in stone.Maddin086 schrieb:

2. What documents are required for an amendment request to the building authority? Exterior elevations, datasheets of the air source heat pump, and what else?
...Also the revised calculation according to the Building Energy Act.Maddin086 schrieb:

3. Could there possibly be issues with the already approved KfW55 application, and would a new energy calculation be necessary regarding the subsidy?
...It is almost certain that the application will no longer be valid because the basis for the calculation no longer applies—the execution will not match the approved version. You need to clarify the details with your energy efficiency expert who prepared your application. In this case, the expected funding will likely no longer be available for the usual reasons, even if the heating type is an improvement under the Building Energy Act.Maddin086 schrieb:

4. Are there any other topics or points to consider?
...Cancel the gas connection if it has already been applied for 😉W

In this case, the funding will likely no longer be available for known reasons, even if the type of heating represents an improvement under the Building Energy Act.We have already discussed this topic before, which was about the windows. The general consensus back then was that a recalculation is required, but improvements are not a problem. If in doubt, just call KFW/BAFA and ask. They can provide definitive answers.
