Hello everyone,
Until now, I’ve mostly followed the topics here quietly, but I thought I might ask for your experiences this time 🙂
We are building with Schwörerhaus, and our current task is to plan our kitchen so that we also get the layout for the utility connections. We thought we’d get three quotes, compare them, and then decide. But it’s not as easy as we thought.
So far, we have visited two kitchen showrooms. Both told us they only plan and sell the kitchen with the appliances included, and during the consultation, we could only specify which functions are important to us for the appliances.
After all the planning, we got to see a finished rendering on-site and were given a price. However, we were not allowed to take any pictures or printed plans of the final kitchen. Also, no exact model numbers or similar details about the appliances were provided. We were told the brand, but a supplier usually offers more than one appliance of a brand.
This all seems quite unprofessional to me. The advisors’ argument was each time that they put in the effort, and then I might take the plan and get it done somewhere else. In the end, I determined the layout, number of cabinets, etc., myself at both places—and naturally chose the same for each to compare.
But without the details, I can hardly compare. In the end, I don’t really know which appliances are included. If company 1 says it costs 25,000 EUR and company 2 says 15,000 EUR, I have no way of understanding what causes the difference. Both kitchens are roughly identical in layout and the number of cabinets, so it must be the appliances? It would be nice to have that listed so I could maybe choose cheaper appliances in one kitchen or more expensive ones in the other if something is “missing” or however.
What are your experiences here? Does anyone perhaps know a good kitchen studio in Berlin/Brandenburg where you can get everything listed clearly?
I’m a bit unsure right now... I wouldn’t want to pay such an amount “just like that” without knowing exactly what I am paying for in the end.
Thanks in advance for your insights.
Best regards,
ElaVogel

I have to say... I haven’t had such experiences.
We visited Roller (they also sell Nolte, Nobilia, etc.) and had a great kitchen designed there, including appliances. The salesperson really did a great job with us, took plenty of time, and gave us printouts.
Later, when it really became relevant, we also went to a kitchen studio that had contracts with the construction company, so there was a discount. There, we could see everything during the planning process simultaneously on a large screen. The appliances would have been very expensive there. In the end, we bought the kitchen there and ordered the appliances ourselves online.

What experiences have you had here? Does anyone perhaps know a good kitchen studio in Berlin/Brandenburg, Hello ElaI felt the same way.
I visited two different kitchen studios and only received insufficient answers.
Then a friend of my wife told me enthusiastically about her kitchen purchase.
Dassbach. They have a production facility in Berlin.
Bingo: that was a perfect fit.

Then choose them beforehand and clearly specify them, done.
And if they don’t agree… you really move on to the next one. Maybe I should have described or expressed this more precisely beforehand.
I was definitely prepared for the kitchen planning appointments. On one hand, I pre-planned the kitchen with a kitchen planner so that it would be clear what I want. I also wrote down the cabinet units I absolutely want.
Additionally, I educated myself about the functions available for appliances (oven, dishwasher, etc.) and which brands could be suitable. I created a list marking the functions I want and also the ones that are "nice to have." I also brought a list with specific models that I consider suitable for the appliances.
I was told that kitchen studios have better and different models than those available online… but at least I can get the functions I want.
Well, since I didn’t receive any list of included appliances, I can only hope that they are actually included. That’s exactly what makes me suspicious. On top of that, the price differences. I have to be able to see everything to make sure it’s all included, or do I just try it out when the kitchen is installed in two years?
I’m not easily intimidated and addressed this right away. Both salespeople said that this procedure is quite normal and common. They do try to incorporate the wishes, and I just have to rely on the professional. But I see it differently. So I thought I’d just ask how others have experienced this.
I have now researched the dealers mentioned in the thread and requested an appointment. Let’s see how it goes there 🙂 It really shouldn’t be that difficult since I have very clear ideas. In the end, I just want to know that the offer includes exactly what I want and what it costs.
Best regards
Ela

You basically took the work away from a professional. There are the practical type of people and those who get annoyed when an amateur dares to do expert work 😉

Well, since I haven’t received any list of the included appliances, You also don’t have a written contract yet.

I need to be able to see if everything is really implemented, or do I only find out when the kitchen is installed in 2 years? If the contract is going to be finalized, you will get printed documents to review, possibly request changes, and then sign. It’s like buying a house.

I really have to rely on the professional then. That’s how it is! 😉

Neubau202213 Jun 2022 08:37We had similar experiences in the Berlin/Brandenburg area. Sometimes it was even worse, since we arrived with a budget of around €20,000 (including electrical appliances), but some tried to push a Bora induction cooktop for €6,000 on us... If I can recommend anyone for communication, it would be Möbel-Haag from Görlitz. The planner was very quick and, in my opinion, good. He responded immediately.
In the end, we decided on a Polish kitchen maker from my wife’s hometown. We are now paying under €20,000 for a large kitchen plus electrical appliances that we are sourcing ourselves, along with a natural stone countertop (8 meters (26 feet 3 inches) running length).

You also don’t have a written contract yet.I can understand the original poster. Basically, this is supposed to be an offer. However, an offer is a unilateral declaration of intent with a binding nature. But if I don’t even know what I am bound to, it becomes meaningless. It can be changed later at any time by the person responsible.
