Robert0179610 Apr 2022 10:52Hello everyone,
According to the architect, our air source heat pump needs to be relocated. A minimum distance of 11.89m (39 feet) has been calculated for nighttime noise reduction.
The construction company has given us a quote of €999 for a 5.5m (18 feet) offset. The pump is planned to be moved from the middle of the left side of the house to the front.
Is this price justified?
Thanks and best regards, Robert

What exactly is included in the €999 (including VAT)? Foundations, conduit for the cables, electrical supply, possibly recommissioning by the heat pump manufacturer?
It can’t just be a matter of two people lifting the unit, carrying it around 5.5 m (18 feet), and setting it down somewhere in the dirt, can it?

Surely it’s not just about lifting the unit with two people, carrying it 5.5 m (18 feet) around, and setting it down somewhere outside again? It’s clear that more is involved than just a cable and two lines.
The question is whether an additional €999 for 5.5 m (18 feet) is common.
What exactly will be done is generally not stated in the contract. It only mentions proper installation.
There is likely a typical procedure for installing these units outdoors.
This is also not about updating an existing system, but rather expanding a new build.
