Hello,
we are planning to install a lift-and-slide door in the living room instead of two double doors side by side, each with two panels that open inward (I don’t know the exact term right now).
In the living room, these are the only windows, and on the ground floor there is only one more window in the open kitchen.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of a lift-and-slide door compared to two double doors, especially in relation to a KfW55 building standard?

It will definitely have a noticeable weight, so each time you open it will be more effortful than a simple hinged door. However, it’s not a problem for an adult. For children, well, that remains to be seen. At the age when they can’t manage it, it’s probably a feature—in any case, I wouldn’t want to leave a toddler alone with it.
With the developer (is it really a developer?), this is probably standard, but of course, it could be cheaper if done through direct contracting.

This is supposed to be just a lift-and-slide door.
The width will be about 5 meters (16 ft), so 2.5 meters (8 ft) per panel.
Additional cost from the builder: 5000€ With a tilt function? Reconsider the downsides: children cannot slide the heavy panels, a bit of ventilation without a burglar/slip-through lock is not possible, and quickly closing it from behind when your hands are full to keep animals out is not feasible. They do look nicer, though!
Brief note: Both lift-and-slide doors and (double) doors can also be designed asymmetrically. For example, one-third can open while two-thirds remain fixed. With 5 meters (16.4 feet) wide elements, this provides more than enough passage width, solves the weight and mechanical issues mentioned here, and, at least in my opinion, also looks more appealing.
