Hello,
The drain in our shower is already starting to weaken, and we have only been living in the house for 15 months.
We have a linear shower drain from Geberit. The cover is regularly removed, and some hair always gets caught on the black plastic prongs. However, I’m afraid that a lot of hair is passing through and now clogging the pipe. I have ordered a professional product (PEIP F drain cleaner) to fix this. Hopefully, it works!
Is there an additional hair strainer that can be used with linear shower drains? I haven’t really found anything on this. I would like to take preventive measures in the future.
Thank you and best regards

I now have a shower channel... no idea how the spiral works in there. Can’t you simply remove the cover? In our case, there is a standard drain in the middle of the channel under the cover. Try taking a photo 🙂

Try taking a photo 🙂That should be our shower drain. If you reach into the round “hole,” there is water standing there, and you can only reach into the “box.”
A insert that you can place under the cover to catch everything that doesn’t get caught by the teeth beneath the cover would be useful. But it seems that nothing like that exists.

The odor trap and the strainer go exactly into that hole.
Then the box won’t fit anymore. But isn’t that permanently installed? You can’t just take it out that easily...
This is really frustrating; I’m honestly worried about how well the water will drain after a few years. Washing hair in the sink can’t be the solution (I seriously found that recommended online).
