Hello fellow home builders,
We are currently planning our single-family house and are waiting for the general contractor’s quote.
Right now, I’m focusing on the satellite dish and would like to get your recommendations or advice.
Google shows different satellite dishes at times, so it’s a bit confusing.
So far, I have mainly noticed the TecniSat SATMAN 850 Plus and the DUR line 4-person dishes.
Which dish would you recommend?
What other hardware is needed besides the dish?
Thanks in advance,
Antonio

Actually, my wife and I don’t really watch free-to-air TV. But maybe for the kids, so they have the option to watch traditional television.Especially children and teenagers don’t watch TV at all anymore. They either watch kids’ programs via Prime/Netflix or, when they’re older, use YouTube and Twitch.Antonio2908 schrieb:
However, you are always dependent on the internet connection here..I used to think the same for a long time. Meanwhile, I have come to believe that a good and stable internet connection is more important. I can do without TV occasionally, but the internet MUST work. Streaming music, working from home, etc. So it’s better to invest a bit more in a good network infrastructure. Of course, everyone has to decide that for themselves.rdwlnts schrieb:

Of course, everyone has to decide that for themselves. The thing is, no matter how good your infrastructure is... most of the problems are outside your network. I don’t remember the last time I had internet issues caused by my household. Even with friends and family, it’s usually the provider. Ok, personally I don’t care if TV is down for a few days. But for others, it’s important, and IPTV is definitely more prone to outages..

The problems are mostly outside of your network. You’re right. Unfortunately, it’s not always perfect. I was more referring to the priorities. Internet has become more important than TV reception in many areas. That’s why I don’t need a satellite system to ensure TV reception, as I can do without it. A backup for the internet is more important, for example via mobile networks or other means.A
Antonio290813 Mar 2021 16:34Thank you for all the suggestions. Depending on the total costs, we will at least install the infrastructure for a satellite system. If the whole thing stays under a maximum of 400 EUR, I think it’s manageable 🙂
Good luck
