Hello everyone,

We are new to this forum.
We recently purchased a plot of land and now want to build a house. We plan to visit several providers and request quotes. We have appointments with Schwörerhaus, Okal Haus, Weberhaus, and Bien-Zenker. Does anyone have experience with these companies and can recommend any of them?

We look forward to an active exchange.

Best regards

The chemical stability of silicones is well known. Why else would glaziers use silicone on glass panes? Why else are car windows bonded with such compounds? Why else are wooden decks on ships sealed with silicone materials? And so on. Because they are UV-resistant and stable.

Decision-making bodies have to balance many interests, many of which conflict with each other. In the end, the measures that are easiest to promote and whose lobby groups have the strongest support are usually adopted. Lobby groups here explicitly include not only industry lobbyists but also so-called environmental organizations and associations focused on specific issues. Climate protection through insulation is currently a popular selling point. However, its overall effectiveness is questionable, and in practice, it causes problems.

The main issue is the combination of many isolated individual measures instead of a comprehensive, consistent concept (any parallels to current crisis management are intentional 😉). A cross-sector emissions trading system, for example—which could address the CO2 problem holistically without many interventions—is simply unpopular, especially among the environmentalist camp.

However, it would only solve the problem in the balance sheet sense (as described in the so-called patient paper).

It’s probably always the case

I can’t confirm that. Although the seller had all the prices ready, I had to extract them from him with great effort. Essentially, he did almost nothing and just waited for us to sign.

What good is the best salesperson if nothing fits afterward? I’d rather have a slow seller if everything fits afterward. And I can only recommend Schwörerhaus because the process was so “uncomplicated” in every regard. Except for the issue of soundproofing inside the house, but that was my responsibility—I should have booked the soundproofing package back then. Although I don’t think the wall construction is the same in other prefabricated houses.

The best salesperson doesn’t help me much. But a bad salesperson drives customers away right from the start. After two appointments, I still didn’t have any reliable estimate of the price I would face. Others were much better at that. And the poor communication doesn’t exactly inspire confidence that everything will turn out well in the end. Otherwise, they would have stayed in the shortlist longer.

This is not meant as a criticism of Schwörerhaus or anyone else, but I think many companies underestimate what they lose by employing poor salespeople or commission-based agents who are only focused on quickly securing preliminary contracts.

Only if the certificates are cheaply squandered or too many are issued because the industry is not meant to be burdened. If they are reduced each year, emissions are also reduced. But exactly where it is cheapest to implement—whether that be in airplanes, cars, power plants, or grandma’s oil heating system from 1985.

No, other suppliers sometimes use only one drywall panel without wood behind it... so it can be worse.
We dropped the soundproofing package, and our doors also offer slightly better sound insulation. I’m curious to see how it will turn out. We will know more in 2 months 😀
