Hello everyone,

does anyone know if the Paulmann Spot Circle (URail) flickers a lot? Unfortunately, the Paulmann hotline cannot provide any information on this.

I am uncertain because I have a Paulmann LED that flickers quite noticeably. The flickering is visible to the naked eye. In many photos, you can see a distinct black band caused by the flickering (visible with my RX 100 M4).

It is usually caused by the dimmer, and the flickering typically occurs only at certain dimming levels.
With photos, you will almost always see flickering with LEDs unless the camera compensates for it. Take a look at car reviews, for example—the daytime running lights flicker...
Try using a different dimmer. That should solve the problem.

The lamp operates without an external dimmer. The dimmer is built-in and controlled via the standard light switch. Flickering occurs at all levels. Compared to other LED lights I have in the house, the Paulmann fixture is truly a disaster.

Ok, I thought it was an external dimmer. In that case, I would contact the manufacturer/seller again. That’s not normal...

I have three of these lamps. They all have the same problem. It’s not that bad where they are currently installed. But I’m wondering if I should buy other Paulmann LEDs...

If all three have it, then something else must be wrong. Nowadays, LEDs are no longer that difficult to dim. And I can't imagine that Paulmann would use such a poor-quality dimmer.
