Hello,
We are starting our house construction in 2 weeks, and since we don’t build a house every couple of years, my wife and I wanted to find out about the current customs regarding the upcoming Topping-Out Ceremony!
Does anyone here from the area have experience with this? What do I need to organize?
Best regards
The Mahnke family

We are postponing everything for now. Also, I don’t want anyone to have to use the porta potty... Why not?ypg schrieb:
Why not?I simply assume that most people prefer to avoid having to use a portable toilet. However, I’m not sure if I would attend a topping-out ceremony as a guest (this week/next week) because of "Corona"?

But I’m not sure if I would attend a topping-out ceremony as a guest (this week/next week) because of "Corona."Just as a side note, the topping-out ceremony will take place around June. Our entire general contractor team was here, the same crew who prefabricated the house in the workshop over several weeks and assembled it on site, including the site manager, architect, and the company owner in person. Also present were neighbors, some friends, and family. The celebration lasted late into the evening, and even the construction workers stayed until the end, enjoying good food and drinks. We would definitely do it the same way again.

Just as a quick note, the topping-out ceremony is expected to take place in June.Hopefully, the wave of illnesses will have subsided by then.I also think that a topping-out ceremony can probably take place in June. By then, the topic will be settled. A topping-out ceremony is a nice tradition, and it is especially well preserved among carpenters.
Would you really want to live in a house where there was no topping-out ceremony, no traditional speech, no shattered glass, and where the last nail wasn’t driven in? My topping-out ceremony was over 20 years ago, but I can still remember the day clearly.
