ᐅ Most cost-effective way to build a privacy and noise barrier wall? Has anyone done this before?

Hi,

we are considering building a wall around the house because privacy and noise protection are important to us. Especially noise protection, since the street is nearby. Privacy could be addressed in other ways.

So the question is: what is the most cost-effective way to build a wall? Natural stone? Concrete blocks? Has anyone done this themselves or had it done?

What were your experiences regarding effort, costs, and duration? Would you do it again (or have it done again)?

No one intends to build a wall ;-)

It would have to be a glass wall anyway. Otherwise, it would also block the light.

Just a retaining wall

There are many options, but you will probably need a company or heavy machinery. Are you even allowed to do that?

That’s not important. Once the wall is up, barbed wire just needs to be added quickly and the shoot-to-kill order issued. Then Ronald Reagan can calmly come and say: Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall ;-)
