Hello,

We are planning to have a bungalow built.

I would appreciate any feedback or suggestions for improvement.

First of all, it’s a pity there is no information about the planning task, wishes, plot, neighboring buildings, elevations, or cardinal directions. This leaves only a rather detached evaluation of the floor plan.

In my opinion, it lacks a practical zoning of the areas, possibly lighting in the hallway, and space and comfort everywhere.

- Zoning
The children’s rooms are all located in one area, but the WC will probably also serve as a guest toilet, making that area public again. The master area and the shared bathroom are distributed along the path to the living room, which is also public.

- Lighting in the hallway
A common problem in square or large bungalows, but depending on the roof design, it might still be possible. What is planned?

- Space and comfort
- 5 people and only one bathroom – the garden shower has to make up for it
- To get to the utility room, you have to go through the entrance area, which is not ideal
- In the dressing room, there isn’t even 90cm (35 inches) of clearance; it barely allows dressing and is a confined space. The person sleeping will always be disturbed.
- Two of the children’s rooms are very narrow at 2.7m (9 feet), it works but is not ideal.
- Traveling a long way from the kitchen to the dining room – why?
- Nowadays everyone wants a pantry, but it should be located functionally and be practically usable.
- Although the dining room is large enough, it feels cramped.
- The living room is too narrow at 3.38m (11 feet), with hardly any space for cabinets and it is far too dark; the floor space in front is inefficiently used.

Waiting didn’t pay off, but at least there is no lasting damage to the optic nerve. However, this will require either a lot of work in further development or starting over.

That’s total nonsense…

Come down from your throne, I just had to get that off my chest...

If it improves the floor plan, I’m happy to step down from my throne onto my hand-woven carpet made of gold threads.
But does that really help?

If meaningless and condescending remarks like "The wait was not worth it, but there is no permanent damage to the optic nerve." contribute to the original poster gaining any benefit for their floor plan design, then so be it...

From my point of view, however, this is completely pointless. If you cannot provide feedback because you lack information, please kindly (emphasis on kindly) point this out or simply keep quiet.

Maybe you should leave the evaluation to the original poster and those who contribute positively to the topic.
And it’s quite bold of you to engage in comparing the usefulness of our answers for the original poster. But I’m happy to get off my golden carpet and step down onto my very expensive marble floor if it helps the OP.

This would work much better with a checklist of questions, maybe you could take a look at that. It improves accuracy and thus helps the OPs, possibly also helps OPs answer questions they hadn’t considered the consequences of, and saves time for those providing their assessments...

maybe you should try some self-reflection instead of complaining a lot and just say: Sorry, that was bad.. It should be communicated that your comments, which are far off the main topic (you’re not the only one, there are a few other species around here), simply become annoying over time 🙂 Then, explain to me, Mr. Big Shot, how someone is supposed to make productive use of your remark that your optic nerve is still intact when planning a floor plan?

I’ll skip using the quote function this time (it would be too time-consuming given the frequency):

Such arrogance can only exist in an anonymous forum – in real life, this kind of person would be shown the door.
The posts themselves are not constructive but rather demotivating!

Even if some useful tips can be found within these theatrical statements, they are difficult to distinguish factually and technically for someone seeking advice and help.
