During my search for a "suitable" wood stove, a few options caught my attention. They are all small, as a larger stove would not be practical.
Brunner, Iron Dog 1
Jotul, F 602
Nordpeis, Orion
and Nordpeis, ME Wall
For the intended use, I like the "Iron Dog One" the most. However, I can’t find any reports worldwide from someone who actually owns one.
The chances might not be good, but I’ll give it a try:
Does anyone know it?

Why do these inserts — without an "outer shell" — cost just as much as a complete stove WITH casing? ....Because it is essentially a complete stove. Only the appearance doesn't match. A high-quality branded insert plus the surrounding structure can quickly reach or exceed five figures. That is why often only the finished stove is placed in the living room.I don’t find the explanation very convincing...
Only...? It costs so much that some people simply skip it!?

You have to accept that...

There is no doubt that expensive wood-burning stoves exist.
I have no problem with something being "expensive" if there are clear reasons for it.
But I find it interesting to make the reasons behind the prices transparent.
A Nordpeis Orion costs 800€ (about 870 USD),
a glazed Jotul costs 1130€ (about 1230 USD),
and there are others from well-known manufacturers that are still NOT as expensive.
The background to this is fascinating.
😎
Maybe there are fireplace inserts that cost less and I just haven’t found them yet?
