Hello everyone,

What do you think in general about the brand BeF from the Czech Republic? It would be the most affordable option for us. How does it compare to a more expensive Schmid or an even more expensive Brunner stove?
As an example, there is the BeF Home Trend V8 CL versus a Brunner Architektur 38/86/36 or a Schmid Ekko 10051. The Brunner is also available in a 100mm (4 inch) width or even wider. But is an additional cost of about 1300 euros justified compared to the BeF?
Are there differences in the features, such as the sliding doors, etc.? My chimney sweep told me that wood-burning stoves only need a (German?) type plate and a datasheet and must comply with the BImSchV emissions regulation.

Background:
We are currently planning our house and want to start construction in three months.
We have already visited stove manufacturers, but having a stove installed completely by one company seems too expensive to us. In particular, we will be installing a ground-source heat pump and want the stove purely for aesthetic purposes. We will also forgo a water jacket. Since the heating insert is intended for an open-plan living, kitchen, and dining area, and the wall is angled at 45 degrees, we want a corner stove.

Best regards,
Ralf

This site is incredibly helpful. I asked around and can now assist others who might be looking for similar information.

Advantage of BeF Home: it is a cast iron stove, meaning it does not warp when heated and does not crackle. Therefore, the stove does not require expensive firebrick for steel heat protection and uses a lining material called carcon instead.
Especially the multi-sided glass panels can be problematic. They can break, and BeF Home is the only manufacturer that provides a free service technician visit within 3 years to replace the glass. With other manufacturers, the glass warranty would expire after a few weeks regardless of usage.

The BeF Home already comply with the BImSchV 2, which some competitors have not yet met.

Well, asking a question first and then answering it to your own satisfaction is known in Baden-Württemberg as "Gschmäckle," which has a somewhat rougher meaning in our region.
