Hello everyone,
I want to raise the question: Why do some Ikea Brimnes drawers stick? I’ve noticed that with certain models, the drawers don’t slide smoothly but catch or feel stiff when pulling out or pushing in. This is especially noticeable when the drawers are loaded or when they are opened and closed quickly.
I am particularly interested in whether this is often due to incorrect assembly, material tolerances, or if the design of the Brimnes series has certain weak points.
Are there known problem areas with the drawer runners or during assembly that one should watch out for to prevent sticking?
I look forward to well-informed answers or experiences from you so I can check this specifically on my furniture.

Another point is the material properties of the drawers themselves – relatively thin fiberboard can warp slightly when exposed to moisture.Thank you for the hint! This exact issue made me think. With my Brimnes furniture, I actually noticed a slight bowing on the back of the drawer, probably due to increased humidity in the room.
I wonder if the manufacturer is deliberately making compromises here and whether sticking caused by moisture damage is more common than problems caused by assembly errors.
Are there any experiences or recommendations on how to permanently reduce moisture absorption? I would prefer not to have to replace the drawers.
