Hello everyone,
I have a somewhat specific question about spare parts from IKEA, specifically for the Hemnes series. I have noticed that some furniture components, such as screws, drawer runners, or certain wooden parts, are difficult to reorder. I’m particularly interested in which spare parts you find hard to obtain for Hemnes and whether you have any tips on how to get those parts if IKEA does not supply them directly.
I would also like to know if this issue is often limited to certain assemblies and if it varies regionally—meaning whether stores in other countries or regions have better spare part availability.
I look forward to your experiences and advice!

I think this topic is really important! Spare parts are essential for making furniture use more sustainable.
That sums it up perfectly! I was lucky that the nearest IKEA store was fairly well stocked with spare parts for Hemnes, especially screws and small fasteners. But the rails were actually very hard to get.
What I would really appreciate is an official spare parts catalog with availability, which you can easily browse online. That way, you could plan better and avoid buying new items unnecessarily.
Until then: keep at it and always try to ask customer service. Sustainability through repair should be much more in focus!

It’s frustrating when you only need a small part – like a single screw or a connector – and you have to buy the entire piece of furniture again because of that.
