Hello, choices between two types of roof tiles:

1. ABC roof tile modena11

A single terracotta roof tile in red-orange, ceramic piece with a smooth surface.

2. ABC roof tile tg 10

Brown clay roof tile with rounded profile, close-up

The building material supplier said that Modena 11 is better because it has an extra lateral groove, which prevents wind-driven snow and heavy rain from getting underneath the tile.

What is your opinion on this?
I would choose a color to match the brickwork, but should it be high gloss, matte, or something in between? I feel high gloss might be better as moss or similar growths might form less quickly(?), but high gloss on a large roof area (bungalow)! What do you think?

subjective: I find the glossy roof tiles terribly unattractive, and on some streets, they reflect so much sunlight that they seriously glare at drivers.

Not high gloss, but a matte or satin finish.

We also like the satin finish visually. Sometimes it is assumed that high gloss is better against moss, but so far I haven't found a reliable source for this claim (from homeowners). (There are no long-term tests for this.)

Do you know whether TG 10 or Modena 11 is better?

Visually, I find Modena 11 nicer/calmer because of its semi-flat shape.

But regarding functionality, I have no idea. I don’t want to ask the site manager either, as they will probably just praise whichever is easier to install. Here are the data sheets:

In our area, some houses have glossy roof tiles, while right next to them, you can see dull, dirty roofs, even though both are the same age. The glossy ones still look like new (about 15 years old). We also chose glossy tiles. For our first house (which is now 17 years old), we had matte ones, and they are dirty now.

Many trees? Great. If none, no problem.
