Hello,

I hope I’ve posted this in the right subforum. I’m a complete beginner, so please feel free to give me a little guidance if I’m doing something wrong!

A bit about me: I’m Robert, a father of three children. We have purchased an old house. It is being renovated and a large extension is being added.

Our children have put a lot of thought into planning their rooms and naturally want all their ideas to be realized, which won’t be possible. I would now like to get a software program that allows us to virtually furnish the rooms they have planned. Can you give me any recommendations?

Thanks
Rob

SketchUp is another alternative program, but I have never worked with it.
Thanks for the tip, I will also take a look at Sweet Home 3D.

I am currently using RoomSketcher. It is okay in terms of usability and relatively easy to use. What bothers me a bit is the limited selection of furniture (at least they have some Hemnes pieces, but no Ivar for example, generally not much from Ikea). Also, in some areas there are frequent attempts to upsell a premium version. Otherwise, you can get quite far with it.

I have also tried SketchUp. However, it is complex and probably not suitable for beginners who have not yet worked with 3D modeling. I found the interface terribly confusing and couldn’t manage it at all, and that’s coming from someone with a computer science background.
