Hello,
I have a question: I want to install a detector in the heating room. We have a gas boiler in the basement with underfloor heating.

However, I am not sure which one I need. Do I require a CO detector for carbon monoxide or a gas detector?
When I look online, I find different information:

"Gas detectors are necessary only in houses or apartments with gas heating, gas boilers, or gas stoves, or in workshops and hobby basements where gas welding is done. For caravans with gas heating or gas stoves, there are gas detectors with a 12-volt connection for the vehicle battery. These detectors sound an alarm when even the smallest amounts of gas leak into the air, giving you enough time to take action and prevent a gas explosion. If you do not use gas in your home, a gas detector is not necessary. Otherwise, you can get a good gas detector starting at about 30 Euros.

Carbon monoxide detectors are often confused with gas detectors, but these are two different types of devices. Carbon monoxide is a colorless and odorless gas produced by combustion when there is not enough oxygen. This can occur with any type of combustion heating (for example, gas, oil, wood, pellets, etc.), as well as with fireplaces, boilers, or stoves—anywhere combustion takes place. If you have such a risk source in your house, a carbon monoxide detector (also called a CO detector) should definitely be installed nearby. CO detectors are available starting at around 30 Euros."

I have no idea what type of gas the heating system uses since my landlord, who always took care of it, has passed away.
