Hello everyone, I am looking for recommendations and experiences with suitable care products for the surfaces of the Ikea Hemnes furniture series.
Specifically, I am interested in tips for cleaning agents and maintenance methods that preserve or enhance the typical paint finish and wood protection of the Hemnes series without damaging the surface.
Unfortunately, I have found quite different advice—some recommend mild soap solutions, others suggest special wood care products, or even no additional maintenance at all.
Does anyone have practical experience with cleaning or care products that both protect the matte paint finish and minimize discoloration or scratches?
The goal is to keep the furniture looking flawless and durable for as long as possible, without using harsh products. Thanks in advance for your input!

Avoid aggressive cleaning agents containing ammonia or alcohol, as they can damage the finish and cause discoloration. This is an important point. Ammonia-based cleaners in particular can dissolve or dull the matte finish of the Hemnes series.
In addition to cleaning, mechanical stress from abrasives or rough sponges should be avoided. Although the paint layer is durable, it is not invulnerable.
Regular cleaning with a soft, slightly damp cloth is the best approach. For protection, I recommend only products specifically designed for painted furniture with a matte surface, preferably without added fragrances or dyes.
