The concrete slab company needs a small amount of water on site, so little that it’s not worth ordering a water tanker. It’s for cleaning equipment and personal gear.
One option could be to ask a neighbor if they could lend their garden hose, of course for a fee 😉
Does anyone have any other ideas on how to arrange this? Using a water barrel in January is probably not a good idea 🙂
How would you suggest I approach the neighbor about this?

You can get a standpipe from the municipal utilities, but you need to leave a deposit. Upon return, the rental fee plus the consumed water will be deducted from the deposit.
Find out where the nearest water connection is. If it is located on a busy road, you need to ensure the standpipe is secured according to traffic regulations (e.g., STVO). If a vehicle hits it, you could face serious problems.
However, the standpipe typically remains in place only for an extended period for plasterers and screed installers.
You can get 30-liter (8-gallon) containers from heating and plumbing professionals. They usually have enough of the solar fluid.
