FrancisHello, last week we had 20 spruce trees removed, and now only the stumps remain. In the summer, we will have all the roots ground out.
The garden is now covered with needles, which was unavoidable after the tree removal.
What is the best way to restore my lawn?
Should I apply lime? Is there a device that can easily vacuum up the needles? Using the lawnmower works, but only gradually. The needles take about 7 years to decompose naturally. The problem is that we have a dog, so I don’t want to use any toxic treatments... If anyone has any advice, I would really appreciate it...

ronnystritzke26 Nov 2011 17:10Hello, I am planning to remove several coniferous and deciduous trees soon. What is the best way to deal with the tree stumps? I would like to remove them completely, but some of the trees are already quite large….
Best regards, Ronny

The forestry service told me that they have a special machine that can completely grind everything out, including the roots that are very close by. We had to remove the spruce trees because their roots were already lifting some of the patio slabs.
I’m glad everything is gone now; it only took a total of 3 days for everything!
But what about all the needles now?
Leaf blower?
I’ve already tried to get some of them with the lawn mower. It works a bit, but you would have to mow over the same spot a thousand times, and with almost 1000 square meters (10,764 square feet), that’s quite a challenge.
