Hello everyone,
We have small bugs in our house. Does anyone know what these are and, more importantly, what might be causing them?
The source seems to be in the basement, as that’s where most of them are. There are only a few on the ground floor, and so far none in the upper floor.
What can we do to get rid of them?

Thanks in advance

Do they jump?

Here is a picture from 2018:
(the critters are actually so small that it’s hard to get a clear photo with a phone)
Since then (July 2018), we have had them in 2–3 rooms in the corners of the walls.
You can crush them as much as you want – they always come back.
But it’s not clear where they come from or how they reproduce.
I suspect they “feed” on moisture or fungi on the felt plaster, as there are no plants or flowers where they appear.

At the same time, we occasionally find these strange reddish worms:
(though in different rooms and right on the middle of the walls)

T_im_Norden22 Feb 2020 16:51Most likely colorful beetle larvae, which live as predators. They possibly feed on the booklice.
Way of Life
Booklice depend on habitats with high relative humidity and mainly feed on mold fungi. These insects reproduce throughout the year inside buildings. Their lifespan is about 10 to 12 weeks.
Occurrence
Booklice can be found, for example, on the ground under fallen leaves and also occur in many households. They are often found in bathrooms or on windowsills—especially where houseplants are present. Booklice are found worldwide, particularly in damp basements, newly built apartments, or libraries. In freshly wallpapered or still damp new apartments, population outbreaks often occur. There, the insects feed on the barely visible mold layer on the wallpaper and leave behind a fine paper dust.
