ᐅ What kind of building material is this? Does anyone recognize it?

The niche where a radiator used to be is being removed so that the window above can be turned into a door.
Under the plaster, I found what is shown in the attached pictures.
What exactly is this? Should I be concerned when working with it? Behind this strange "insulation" (?) the wall is made of bricks coated with a black layer.
The house dates from 1969, so I am cautious about what materials might have been used back then...

The house dates back to 1969, so you have to be a bit cautious about what materials might have been used... Our previous house was built in 1953/54, and we also had those "fiber cement panels." They contained no asbestos.
Are you already familiar with the various hazardous materials that were used from the post-war years up to the mid-2000s? About three years ago (around the time we sold our house), because potential buyers asked about this, I did extensive research and found some helpful websites. Obviously, no links can be shared here, but you will likely find useful information if you look for it. I found it interesting that the use of "asbestos cement pressure pipes" was permitted until 1995. Asbestos was gradually banned in small steps over time.
(We are building our house now, in 2022. It’s quite possible that in 25 years it will be discovered that materials used now turn out to contain hazardous substances. This is not a criticism or judgment. 🙂 )
