Hello everyone, I’m currently planning the furnishing of my small apartment and looking for suitable wardrobes. The Ikea Pax is quite popular, but it is often quite large and sometimes not ideal for very tight or small spaces. So my question is: What alternatives to the Ikea Pax are available specifically for small rooms, that are flexible in size, still offer good storage space, and ideally are customizable or modular? I want to avoid the wardrobe overwhelming the room or appearing too bulky. Maybe someone knows smart solutions, slim models, or other brands that have proven effective in small rooms? Thanks in advance for your tips!

Hey,

back then, for my small room, I used a combination of a wall-mounted shelf, a freestanding clothes rack, and some storage boxes. It creates a very airy feel, and you can rearrange everything whenever needed to fit the space.

A nice side effect: you don’t have a bulky wardrobe in the corner that can quickly make the room feel cramped 😅. There are also clothes racks with wheels if you want to move them around easily.

Of course, this style isn’t for everyone, but in small rooms, it adds a lot of flexibility.

Oh yes, I always appreciate when someone opts for modular and space-saving solutions! 👏

I personally own the cabinet from the Danish manufacturer Reform; it is very slim and versatile. By the way, second-hand furniture is also great to experiment with—often rare, but perfect for small rooms!

One more tip: use the space above doors or windows for additional shelves. This makes use of the vertical space and saves floor area. Good luck, you’ve got this!
