Hello dear forum community,
I am about to carry out the final inspection of our new build and have recently visited the construction site.
I noticed something concerning the tiles in the bathroom, but I am a complete layperson. Overall, the work is well done, but in my untrained opinion, the solution for the toilet flush area is not ideal or has failed. Since I have no knowledge in this field, I would appreciate some feedback before I address this with the builder.
I have attached a photo. You can see that the tile(s) have been cut into small pieces. Is there a better way to solve this?
Many thanks to the experts in the group.

Somehow, I see hard drives everywhere today. The toilet flush reminds me of a slot-in model from my PC tower, only the color doesn’t match 😱
Do I need help?

What I'm wondering is: If the tiler can’t get the cutout for the switch right, how will the rest look?
I mean, cutting out two tiles can’t be that difficult. And even if one breaks the first time, you just try again. But to completely separate tiles for something like this?
(Maybe the tiler was expecting a larger cover plate, which is possible.)
Best regards

I could have done that correctly myself, especially since it’s not a hole in the middle of a tile.
Any tiler worth their salt wouldn’t have delivered something like that. Shaking my head.
I’m sure he (I won’t call him a tiler) didn’t think it through.

Unfortunately, I don’t have an earlier appointment than the final inspection.

In that case, installing the cut tile would be more difficult than making an opening.
