ᐅ Wall thickness for an interior sliding door

Hello forum,
we are currently in the middle of planning our single-family house.
We wondered if a 17.5cm (7 inch) thick wall is wide enough to install a pocket door, or if a 24cm (9.5 inch) wall thickness is required for this?!?
The sliding door is meant to separate the kitchen area from the living/dining room.

Yes, exactly. Just as the building expert said, our planner explained it to us the same way. I can’t provide more details yet, as we are still in the detailed design phase.
