Hello,
I would like to ask for your experience with wall shelves. We have a timber frame house. The walls are covered with gypsum fiberboard. I want to build a shelf in the pantry myself using furniture-grade panels. Yesterday, I got the boards and also wanted to get the shelves. The simple wall rails available at the hardware store seemed very unstable to me. Which ones have you installed or would you recommend?

I was able to bend them quite easily with little pressure. I have now found Tegometall. If I can get it nearby, I would choose that. They are 23.5mm x 30mm (0.9 inches x 1.2 inches) and 2m (6.6 feet) long. They seem very sturdy.

Custom-built to size, either from wood, as @tomtom79 suggests, or you can use something like the Vario angle profile with holes and build your frame from that, which you can then cover with wooden boards, OSB, or similar materials.

You can often find used ones on sites like eBay (classified ads). I’ve assembled and disassembled tons of them. However, when hooking in the shelves, you need some clearance space—do you have enough room for that? If the space is very tight, assembly might be tricky. Otherwise, I can recommend them.In my basement, though, I have about 20m (65 ft) of much nicer META heavy-duty boltless shelving.
Stable, attractive (if you like industrial design), easy to keep clean. Quick to assemble (or modify).
For my future utility room (in the solid wood house), I will of course choose something natural made of wooden planks 🙂
