Good evening,
for a long time, building a wooden house with an exposed beam ceiling / solid wood ceiling on the ground floor has been our "dream." The current cost situation and uncertainty (where/when can one get wood and so on?) have raised the question of whether an exposed beam wooden ceiling is also possible on the ground floor of a solid limestone masonry house.
a) Are these services that a carpenter can and is willing to provide?
b) What planning needs to be done in advance with the general contractor / house building company? Increase the ground floor ceiling height by 20-25 cm (8-10 inches)? Make openings?
c) Has anyone done something like this before, and if so, what costs can be expected?

Have a nice evening and many thanks
