A simple question: If you place the air intake of the ventilation system on the opposite side of the property and lay underground pipes up to the house, about 50m (164 feet) long, does that really make a difference in terms of temperature? Theoretically, the air should cool down in the ground so that hot outside air is not blown directly through the house in summer. But does this really work, or does the air flow through so quickly that it has no effect?

That works. However, there are several factors to consider, such as the slope to prevent condensation buildup. Additionally, there is extra pressure loss and airflow reduction because the air has to pass through the duct.

Please search online for air geothermal exchangers or brine geothermal exchangers.

In the end, the controlled residential ventilation system acts like an air conditioner in the summer, so you need to drain the ducts because of condensation, etc. Is the extra effort really worth the slightly cooler air?
