Hello and good day,

before I install the gravel and porcelain stoneware tiles for my terrace, I would like to optionally lay an electric underfloor heating system in advance, in case the terrace is later covered or converted into a conservatory. This way, we can simply plug it in and heat the floor.

The question is, which underfloor heating system is recommended and suitable for outdoor use? And how should it be installed — beneath the gravel or on top of it with the terrace tiles then laid over it (for optimal heat transfer)?

Terrace area: 5 m x 8 m (16 ft x 26 ft)
Thank you all. Best regards, Tarik

A terrace made with a gravel bed is simply the worst foundation for building a heated conservatory on top. Underfloor heating is also pointless, as already mentioned. A simple air conditioning system is much more efficient for that.
