Hello hardworking DIY enthusiasts,

Unfortunately, I’m not very experienced with DIY and have little technical knowledge.

My question:
My current room used to be part of our former terrace, so three of the four walls are made of polystyrene insulation. Now, I want to mount an LED TV (about 9 kg (20 lbs)) on a wall bracket attached to this wall.

Yesterday, I hung an Ikea shelf weighing around 3 kg (7 lbs) on the wall, and the screws didn’t hold very well – but when I shake the shelf now, it hardly moves.

Does anyone have an idea if the TV will hold up, or how I could improve the mounting? Due to space limitations, I can only mount it on this wall :/

My idea was to have a custom wall bracket built by a professional to ensure greater stability – but I’m not sure how that would look or be done.

I’m looking forward to your help.

Thank you in advance!!!

Oh yes, always drilling into the thermal insulation—the surest way to create some serious thermal bridges.

Isn't it the case that when thermal insulation is applied on the interior side of the house, the dew point is already located within the building envelope—so the four screws shouldn't be a problem?
