Hello :-)
Can someone tell me what thickness a half-height (about 1.20 m (4 feet)) shower wall should be to install a toilet on the other side?
Or are there concealed cisterns that can be integrated into a 17.5 cm (7 inch) wall?
This concerns a masonry wall, NOT a drywall partition.
Thanks in advance 🙂

elVincent20 May 2017 23:16A standard pre-wall installation element has a depth of about 12cm (5 inches). On top of that, you need to add a gypsum board or similar material to allow for tiling. For a masonry wall, you would need a corresponding recess to embed your pre-wall element. Then, the unit must be securely anchored, which is likely to be problematic given the theoretically remaining wall thickness of just a few centimeters (inches).

Most people take showers standing up. Even adults are taller than pygmies at 1.40 m (4 feet 7 inches). So whose shower should be separated by a splash guard wall only 1.20 m (4 feet) high?
The purpose of a toilet is to direct waste into a drain. This drain is usually located at the back, below the toilet—so on the other side of the shower wall here, would that mean into the shower? ?
As for why you don’t want to use a toilet installation wall element, that question seems secondary given this spatial oddity.
I hope I am the one misunderstanding the spatial arrangement here, but I’m very curious to hear your explanation…
