I have a question that has probably been asked many times before.
I need to apply a waterproofing membrane on the basement slab. Which one would you recommend? A talcum-coated S4 V60? Should this be placed on top of the bitumen felt under the first layer of bricks, or should it be attached all the way up to the finished floor height (16cm (6 inches))? Also in the corner areas—so up along the wall? How large should the overlap be?
Many questions... Thanks!!!!!

Hello, a standard V60 talcum-coated membrane is completely sufficient. Use a 10cm (4 inches) overlap and weld it onto the roofing felt that is beneath the first layer of bricks.

Before doing this, you should thoroughly clean the roofing felt; otherwise, nothing will stick to it. You don’t need to glue the V60 membrane.

Would it be technically incorrect, similar to welding roofing felt on a roof, to fold up the corners and weld them fully over the entire surface up to underneath the floor structure?

Yes, because it is difficult to install a waterproofing membrane at a 90-degree angle in a corner... On the roof, this is not done either; there always has to be a fillet underneath. The membrane tends to tear more easily in the corners...

And what primer should I apply to ensure proper adhesion of the waterproofing membrane to the concrete?

In the past, a bituminous coating was applied... However, if you can properly seal the connections on the sides, this is unnecessary. Apply a torch-on membrane to the felt paper beneath the masonry, then simply weld the joints (overlaps) together. Done.
